Milan Sanremo is the longest professional bike race in the world covering nearly 300km. It starts near Milan and finishes in the town of Sanremo. While race is famous for its length, the action comes within the last 30km with 2 climbs: the Cipressa and the Poggio. The race tests who have the most energy reserves left and who has the most descending nerve in order to take the win. Last year the Milan Sanremo winner was Jasper Philipsen. Because of its difficulty it has earned its place as one of the 5 cycling monuments which also include Tour of Flanders, Paris Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Il Lombardia.
