The Tour of Flanders is one of the biggest one-day races in the cycling calendar. It starts in northern Belgium and finishes in Oudenaarde covering roughly 270km. The challenge in this race is the mix of cobbled sections and short sharp climbs making it both physically and technically demanding. Only the strongest riders stand a chance of winning on this momentous day. Because of its difficulty it has earned its place as one of the 5 cycling monuments which also include; Milan Sanremo, The Hell of the North, La Doyenne and Il Lombardia. Last year the Tour of Flanders winner was Mathieu van der Poel.
